Produce World, one of the UK’s leading growers and suppliers of fresh produce, has appointed our specialist public relations team to carry out corporate public relations activity for the group. The appointment follows a period of working together on an ‘ad hoc’ basis, during which we undertook a variety of assignments including media relations for the group’s innovative CSR programme.
Catriona Mowbray, Produce World’s Group Marketing and Insight Manager, said: “The WAR team has supported us over the past year giving us first-hand experience of how they work closely with their clients, offering a flexible, well-briefed resource, which is much closer to having our own press office than to retaining an outside agency. The team offers senior experience across the full range of disciplines including strategic consultancy, media relations and crisis management, which suits our needs.”
Alison Taylor, WAR’s Head of PR said: “This is an exciting time to be working with the Produce World Group. Following the acquisition of leading brassica company, Marshalls, the Group has been restructured to ensure that it is in the best position to meet the challenges of the marketplace and to deliver quality service and products to its customers. Part of our brief is to ensure that Produce World is rightfully recognised as one of the leading growers and suppliers of high quality fresh vegetables in the industry, promoting the many facets of its business, including its major role in the UK organics sector.”
Produce World is one of the largest expert growers and suppliers of fresh vegetables in Europe. It is a privately owned business, founded by the Burgess family in 1898, and the family ethos and values remain in place.
