Prestigious award for WAR consultant

WAR communications consultant Geoff Dodgson has been awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Agricultural Societies in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the agricultural industry.

Mr Dodgson, who is WAR’s senior consultant, was awarded the accolade on January 25 at the House of Lords by former farmer and opposition spokeswoman for Farming and Rural Affairs Baroness Hazel Byford of Rothley.

Mr Dodgson says: “Agriculture has always been a very important part of my life and it is a great honour to receive such a prestigious award. I’m delighted to have been given this Fellowship.”

The selection was made by the Council for Awards of Royal Agricultural Societies, which recognises outstanding efforts in all aspects of practical farming, including research, economics, commercial and administration every year.

Mr Dodgson has more than 35 years’ experience in agriculture as a journalist and strategic adviser, as well as being a board member at East of England Agricultural Society, chairman at FACTS Management Committee and a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Farmers. He also lectures on communications at the Royal Agricultural College. At Ware Anthony Rust Mr Dodgson works closely with agricultural clients such as AIC, the Crop Protection Association and Growhow.

To date around 750 people in the UK have had their contributions recognised by a FRAgS award.
